Who is Franca Borgia?

An Introduction by Emanuele Horodniceanu – Journalist, Poet, Exhibition Curator

She is here, she is among us, a breezy presence, but she is also elsewhere, you can sense her presence in a tree, in a leaf, in a flower, she pervades the space, alongside her faithful seagulls, a candid storm traversing the seas, the land, and the oceans.

A gentle but unremitting breeze propels her, taking her to Earthly Stopovers in the East and in the West.

She is the artist who, in sacred gardens, breathes and nurtures herself with light and beauty, her hands tracing symbols and itineraries as they draw, paint, heal, and bestow vital, benevolent, soothing energy, transmitting knowledge and providing remedies for others. She is a teardrop from the eye of the Buddha, wandering between humans and the stars, dancing and holding the flame of life and a lotus-flower between her fingertips.

A sanctuary of light, the petal of a flower giving direction, fearlessly penetrating the darkness, pursuing the sacred path of the double spiral…

A solid and yet nimble body crossing time-space with the soft, plush sinuosity of a cat who stands guard, preserving in its eyes the memories and the secrets of the souls that move throughout the Universe.

Like a dolphin leaping through the water, appearing and disappearing between the waves in the slipstream of a prudent sailboat that goes far beyond frontiers.

She is a lively butterfly, swirling around and gently resting on a luminous carpet of gold, silver, and with colours that float freely in the temple of a forest of holy relics, in the embrace of a stream. The exquisite ritual of observing her surroundings with love, tuning into Nature with its silence and its music, with its forcefulness and its tenderness. A Gracious Gaze that follows the frisky but wary walk, in the centre of town or in the countryside, of disrespectful pigeons: companions on a journey that leads and speaks to the heart…

And Venice, volatile and unstable, and yet a safe harbour, the city of her dreams that she experiences, explores and listens to…

The friendly lagoon clothes Franca with precious antique garments, offering its Enchantment, her point of departure and return from her soaring through the Cosmos – pursuing the stars – and her thinking and communicating.

Through Body, Mind and Art…

Franca Borgia

Artist, Writer and Mudrayoga Master

My natal chart (my horoscope at birth) was calculated before my birth. My father had a fairly clear idea about me before I entered the scenery on Friday, October 25th 1974, at 11.24 a.m. in Munich, Taxisstrasse 3. He assisted my mother by massaging her back while I was making my way to the daylight. He even had a cassette player running to record the memorable event.

I listened to this recording just once, about a quarter of a century ago and, oddly enough, the most noticeable detail to me was the heavy noise of an aircraft passing by! Obviously, the window was open. Well, we all need fresh air, don’t we?

When I was eleven years old, I became acquainted with astrology through my father who started to explain the details of my horoscope at birth. From that moment on, I developed a real passion for astrology.

And the world became an open book to me.
